John Godissart
Pastor John loves leading people on a life-changing adventure with Jesus. He has served as a pastoral leader for over a quarter century in both large and small churches. He started serving as pastoral leader and church planter of The Well on July 1, of 2023. His life verse is from the book of Proverbs. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). He came to trust Christ through the godly example of his parents and grew in faith through mentors and friends on his journey of faith. He grew up in Philipsburg and has pastored in the Renovo Area of Clinton County, the McConnellsburg area of Fulton County, and in Blair County. He is a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School, Indiana University of PA and Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky.
John and his wife Karen met through the singing group Re-Creation. They will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 2024. They are parents of Joel (a student at Saint Francis University), Elianna (a soon to be student at Valley Forge University), Albert ‘AJ’, Lillie, and Analiese (all students at Great Commission School in Altoona).
In his spare time, John enjoys frolicking in God’s creation and enjoying the great outdoors. His family recently purchased a farmette in Sinking Valley. Quiet Place Farm is to be used for ministry purposes where other pastors, missionaries, and Christian workers can ‘come away to a quiet place and rest a while.’ (Mark 6:31) They hope for the barn to be an events venue for special events including Christian concerts. In addition to mowing and property improvements, Pastor John just might find himself gardening, hiking, fishing, swimming, and puttering around in the barn. He invites you to fall into The Well. Come and thirst for the living God and offer life-giving water to Blair County and beyond!
